Ozeaon is an endorsedUN Ocean Decade Project
In March 2025, Ozeaon was officially endorsed as Decade Action No. 10.7 under the Early Career Ocean Professionals Programme (ECOP Programme), part of the UN Ocean Decade.
This endorsement recognises Ozeaon’s contribution to ocean knowledge, education, innovation, and collaborative participation.

What is the UN Ocean Decade?
The United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030) provides a global framework to ensure ocean science can better support sustainable development and the wider 2030 Agenda. Its vision is “the science we need for the ocean we want,” and its mission is to catalyse transformative ocean science solutions for sustainable development while connecting people and the ocean.

Ozeaon’s endorsed status
Ozeaon was endorsed as “No.10.7. OZEAON” as part of the UN Ocean Decade and attached to the ECOP Programme. Endorsed projects are expected to adopt Ocean Decade principles including co-design, engagement with users across the ocean science value chain and decision-makers, and open and accessible data management.
